Ale Piling have recently designed, supplied and installed a king post wall on site of the famous HP Sauce factory alongside the Aston Express in Birmingham where a new hotel and warehouse is being constructed.

The initial enquiry from the client called for a sheet pile wall to retain two sides of the perimeter of the site, but with early development from Ale’s designers a far more cost effective Kingpost Retaining was proposed.

The wall was installed by firstly drilling 600mm sockets into the hard sandstone ground, secondly placing and concreting steel h-beams into position and finally installing concrete infill panels between the h-beams. After backfilling the wall was cleaned and painted to give a first class aesthetic finish
