Ale Piling have successful installed a cofferdam at Reading Station to allow an undertrack subway to be installed. A selection of sheet piles were installed, including some  AZ 37-700 Z-piles which were 12.5m long.

Due to the constraints on site from access and platform loadings, our 30 ton rig was utilized enabling Ale Piling to install the AZ piles 2m from the rail line

.

The SP60/300 side grip vibration sheet piling rig combined with our rig mounted HPH 1200 piling hammer drove all the piles to depth with relative ease allowing all of the work to be carried out off track and in one Network Rail possession.

The dedication and professionalism of Ale Piling’s personal was shown as the works took place between 1am and 4pm on Sunday during one of the coldest November nights and days in recent years and was still completed as planned and without a hitch.
